NO OWNER AND NOWHERE TO CALL HOME ALL ALONE AND BATTLING CANCER, I WAS NEVER GOING TO MAKE IT
Being born a street dog means you have never had an owner to love and care for you. Your only home is a street corner, your only source of food what you manage to find while hunting through trash.
It is the only life youve ever known and so, you get by. Until the day you become seriously ill. There is no owner to take you to the vet. With every passing day, you get sicker and weaker, until you are facing a slow, miserable death.
My name is Iliana. I am only a year old.
A nice couple staying near my territory had noticed that I had a large, ugly tumour it looked like my insides were coming out.
My coat was matted and dry. My eyes were dull and filled with suffering. The couple wanted to help me and started to feed me to gain my trust.
At the same time every evening, they would bring me food. I began to trust them and would whimper in gratitude as I approached them.
One evening, after Id finished eating, a truck pulled up and a man got out. He wrapped his arms around me and placed me in the truck.
The man’s name was Khun Nok and he was an Animal Rescue Officer with Soi Dog. I didnt know it then, but my ordeal was over.
The vets at the shelter said I had something called TVT a type of cancer easily transmitted between us dogs.
Since being here, I am being treated with chemotherapy and slowly, the tumour is starting to shrink. My coat has become glossy and healthy once more and my eyes now shine brightly.
Despite all I have suffered, I am one of the lucky ones. I was rescued thanks to a special group of Soi Dog supporters. They are the Emergency Response Team and their donations saved my life.
I wish I could tell you that I was the only dog in this situation but I am one of many. Every day, Soi Dog picks up dogs and cats that are injured, that have been abandoned or abused.
If these animals could speak to you, they would ask you for help.
I am asking you on their behalf. Please join the Emergency Response Team.
You will be giving the gift of life to another suffering animal and all you have to do is CLICK ON MY PHOTO to get started.
Thank you.
By joining the Emergency Response Team, you are making sure that suffering street dogs and cats get the life-saving treatment they so urgently need.
