I’m JOKER and I was rescued from the horrific Dog Meat Trade – PLEASE ADOPT ME.

For adoptions enquiries, please email cristy@soidog.org

I am so thankful I was rescued from a certain death by the kind people at Soi Dog. My friends weren’t so lucky….

Late one evening, my two friends and I were playing outside our owner’s houses, when a man I didn’t know came along with some chicken and offered it to me and my friends.

The next thing I knew we were being crammed into a cage. Because we were so squashed in, my friend’s leg couldn’t fit in the cage and hung out the edge. He cried with pain for a long time when they stacked cages on top and around our cage….

It was a terrible journey, especially as we were right at the bottom of the stack of 3 cages. It was boiling hot – I had never known thirst like this before, I hadn’t been able to drink for over 2 days. As the truck drove on, many of my friends in my cage became very ill and they stopped moving…. Eventually I started to feel very bad as well.

I remember the truck stopping and there was lots of shouting and then men in uniforms took off the tarpaulin which covered us and unloaded the crates we were all in. After a ride on another truck with much more space and breeze, our cages were taken into a big compound and the whole truck load of dogs were let out. I was very sad when none of my friends in the cage were moving and I never saw them again….

Because I was very weak and was struggling to stand, the other 300 dogs in my compound picked on me and attacked me regularly when I tried to eat. Soon, I had bite wounds all over me and started to feel even worse and eventually laid down in the corner in the hope they just might pick on someone else…

I was so lucky when the lady from Soi Dog came to the compound and saw me and arranged for me to be taken to their clinic. They were so kind and gentle as they started to nurse me back to health.

That was 7 months ago. I am now a fit and healthy 2 year old boy, and really don’t like living in a shelter in Bangkok. I really miss the love and attention of living in a human home and being able to play. Please can you adopt me so I can be part of your family? I promise I will be good and bring lots of fun into your house!

The people at Soi Dog tell me there are even kind supporters who are willing to help me fly with them to places I haven’t heard of like the USA and Europe, so it will be very reasonable for me to travel there.
