Born without a home of my own or any owner to love me, I am what is known as a Thai street dog. There are so many of us who live our entire lives on the streets, with every day being a fight for survival. I have managed to reach the age of 10 years. My name is Ricardo.

I was brought to the Soi Dog shelter with a huge wound on my head, probably caused by a fight with another dog. The wound was very badly infected and it was infested with maggots. The vets noticed I was also missing two toes from one of my front legs – this was probably from a much older injury that had never been treated.

I am being looked after by Dr. Jennifer and Khun Duan now. They clean my wound every day and I am a very good boy during my treatment. These humans are trying to help me and I am very friendly when I see them. They tell me my wound is healing well but it will be some time before I am completely better.

I am a lucky boy. That may seem strange to you, but there are so many more street dogs out there and they need your help. I was fortunate that donations from a very special group of Soi Dog supporters got me the treatment I needed. These people are called the Emergency Response Team.

Can YOU be the one who helps another dog like me today? The Emergency Response Team desperately needs more members so that more animals can be helped every day.

No amount is too small; every penny helps. Please be the one to help today. All you have to do is click on my photo to get started.

Thank you.
