PLEASE CLICK HERE TO HELP DOGS LIKE WISDOM

I am a 3 year old boy from the streets of Phuket, Thailand and I have gone through so much pain in my short life. Having never had an owner to care for me, I developed some terrible skin problems that meant I was suffering on a daily basis. A wound on one of my back paws had become seriously infected. I was aching and miserable, and old beyond my years. My name is Wisdom and this is my story.

I was picked up one day by a man called Khun Thep, an Animal Rescue Officer with Soi Dog. He had found me lying in a shallow canal, having lost the will to live. Most of my fur was gone and I was covered in gangrene lesions. I was crying with misery. Khun Thep waded into that canal, picked me up and held me in his arms. My tired eyes met his and I knew I was safe.

At the shelter, the vets gently examined me. They said I had a very bad case of something called demodectic mange, which had caused so much of my fur to fall out. They looked at the wound on my back paw and said they thought it might be from a very old, untreated fracture. They are going to do something called an x-ray.

For now, I am on medication for my skin problems. The cycle of itching and scratching has stopped and I am no longer old beyond my years. For the first time in my life, I feel loved and I am eating well. I have found the will to live again.

Every day, Soi Dog picks up dogs and cats that are sick, injured, abandoned or abused. To help these animals, and provide them with the care and treatment they need, we rely on the Soi Dog supporters that make up the Emergency Response Team. Without them, dogs like Wisdom would die a slow, miserable death.

Sadly, there are many more street dogs and cats that need help. Please join us in saving them by becoming a member of the Emergency Response Team today. No amount is too small; every penny helps. To make a one-time or recurring donation, please click the link below. Thank you.
