We started at 9.45am this morning....
My students, Yang Yik and Bavani were a big help.
Here we are...
Irwin, who very much inspired me to write "Make Time While the Sun Shines" (especially the part about...ahem, punctuality) came by to give moral support. He collected some of my Time books to give to his friends (yes, those who are always late for class!)
Luckily I had a Size 40 in my car for Yang Yik. Good fit. There was no tshirt sales today, but everybody liked this Gold design, but many said they would like it in black. Hmm...a Black Gold? Yes, why not?
I've decided to blow this up to A3.
Our storyboard.
Apparently, Pawprints and Make Time were the most popular books. I wonder if it's because of the cover...? I did tell the students to read the synopsis before taking.
And, many thanks to Huang, who framed this for free for us. I don't quite know him, but when he saw it was for charity, he refused to take money for it.
Next door was the National Cancer Society booth.
Behind us was Organ Donation.
There's "Teach for Malaysia" as well.
The National Kidney Foundation.
Yes, all big guns.
After the official opening ceremony, the crowd came in.
You mean it's for free?
Yes, it is.
We had a great time telling people about what we do. As always, those who are interested were REALLY interested. A few wanted to volunteer, but we're not a shelter and a volunteer REALLY has to commit, so that's really hard for students.
Melinda and Kylie, the two ladies who organised the entire event. Great job, girls!
We packed up at 4.45pm, and I had to rush to the vet's.
A big case had just come in....read on.
