I am a 4 year old boy, rescued from a terrifying situation and agonising pain. I have lived all my life on the street; it was the only home Ive ever known. I was managing to get by and look after myself, but everything changed the day I strayed into a market and had burning hot oil dumped over my back. My name is Khaofang.

I wish I could explain to you the pain I went through. The boiling oil tore through my flesh and all I could do was scream in agony. I was so terrified, I wanted to die. This, I will never forget.

I was left with a horrendous wound across a huge section of my body. When Animal Rescue Officer Khun Sanae found me, so much of my skin tissue was dead and my wound was full of maggots.

Since Ive been at the shelter, two vets called Dr. Eed and Dr. Eugene are looking after me. They clean out my wound and put a special cream on it. They have put me on painkillers so it no longer hurts. I am still eating so this will help me heal, but it will take some time.

The vets talk about a special group called the Emergency Response Team. These nice people send regular donations to Soi Dog so that dogs like me can be picked up, taken to safety, and given the care and treatment we need. It is only because of them that I am here. It is thanks to them I am alive. This too, I will never forget.

Every day, Soi Dog picks up dogs and cats that are sick, injured, abandoned or abused. To help these animals, and provide them with the care and treatment they need, we rely on the Soi Dog supporters that make up the Emergency Response Team. Without them, dogs like Khaofang would still be suffering on the street, alone and in agony. He would not have made it.

Sadly, there are many more street dogs and cats that need help. Please join us in saving them by becoming a member of the Emergency Response Team today. No amount is too small; every penny helps. To make a one-time or recurring donation, please click on Khaofangs photo below. Thank you.
