TIPS TO KEEP YOUR PET SAFE IN A HEATWAVE

1. A REFRSHING COOL DOWN- A bath without soap for evaporative cooling. Use a garden hose to wet down your dog or a wet towel to wet down your cat.

2. STAY INDOORS- If your pet simply must be outside, make sure shade is available AT ALL TIMES. Be sure to check the area your pet is in. As the sun changes, is the shade still available?

3. GO FOR WALKS EARLY MORNING OR NIGHT- Paws can be burned walking on hot pavement and tar. Check paws to make sure there isn’t any redness or pain.

4. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN THE CAR! Temperatures in a car can heat up as hot as 41 degrees Celsius in just minutes at this weather. At this temperature, your pet will suffer irreparable brain damage and death.
