We would like to share a touching story, from the U.S. context, from The Dodo online:-
Florida man slices hole into the side of his truck, to save kitten trapped inside….
Errand Frazier, of Vero Beach, had been out fishing, late in May 2014, when he heard the faint sound of a kitten crying out. Upon taking a closer look, he discovered the mewing was actually emanating from behind one of his truck’s side panels.
Not wanting to risk injuring the kitten – by yanking it out by force or abrasion, Errand did the almost unfathomable – with his metal shears, he started cutting a hole, and peeled back the metal, in order to liberate the kitten from its tight situation.
With the kitten stowaway safely rescued, and in his hands, Errand then hopped into the now cosmetically-damaged vehicle and drove straight to the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County.
Fortunately, the kitten has, since then, been adopted into a forever, loving home.
Errand doesn’t regret what he has done. “You can’t believe how good it feels to have helped [the little kitten],” he says. “Believe me, I would chop my truck into a million pieces if that’s what it took to save an animal’s life.”
Meanwhile, the Humane Society of Vero Beach has started “The Kitty Truck Fund” for those who might like to pitch in to help Errand repair his vehicle. All in all, for having going above and beyond, to save the distressed kitten, he is deservingly hailed as a hero!
