On 24th June, a rescuer had alerted us to this cute little puppy being tied up at the guardhouse (without shelter from rain and shine) in an apartment area in Puchong. A resident of the apartment had taken on the responsibility of rehoming the dog as no one came forward to claim it.
We blogged for adopters, and one of our readers responded.
The guards were informed that an adopter would be coming the very next evening to take the dog.
When the adopter came, the guards said that dog had gone "missing".
The rescuer suspects that the guards and the neighbouring shop workers had kept the dog, waiting to sell it to the highest bidder.
Long story cut short, attempts were made to retrieve the dog, but until today, the dog has not been found yet.
We can only hope that if indeed the dog has been sold, he/she has found a good and safe home.
From the looks of it, it could either be a lost or abandoned pet. You don't have such cute strays roaming around.
While we already have such a big headache trying to rescue and rehome the street dogs, here, we also have lost and abandoned pets, joining the fray, needing help.
This is a huge problem which may not see any light at the end of the tunnel in our lifetime, yet, we must soldier on....and make that difference.
Remember that we may think we cannot save the world by saving just one animal, we can make a whole world of difference to that ONE animal whom we save.
Let's make that difference and do all that we can.
