I am a three year old boy from the streets of Phuket, Thailand. Born with no owner to take care of me, I had to learn pretty quickly how life on the streets worked. I managed to get by, hunting for food and seeking safe places to sleep, but one day, something very bad happened. I was hit by a car and left to die. My name is Jessa.
Unable to help myself, I lay by the side of the road in agony. I had the worst pain ever in my back leg and my front leg had a very nasty wound. I was terrified.
I’m not sure how long I’d been lying there when I felt somebody pick me up. I was brought to the Soi Dog shelter. I didn’t know what this place was, but a vet called Dr. Eugene was very nice to me. He told me I had broken my back leg but that he would do his best to fix it.
He cleaned and treated the wound on my front leg and then made something special called a cast for my broken leg. I am now getting better every day and I am learning not to be scared. These people love me.
Dr. Eugene told me that there are other people out there who love me too. They are Soi Dog supporters called the Emergency Response Team. It is because of them I am here. I am one of the lucky street dogs, but there are many more like me still out there. If you can help them, please do. Please join the Emergency Response Team so they can be saved. All you have to do is click on my before and after pictures to get started.
