WINDOW WASHING CREW USE THEIR POLES TO SAVE DROWNING HEDGEHOG
Hedgehogs can swim, but a crew from Archer Window Cleaners in Manchester, England recently found one in distress in the Ashton Canal.
One of the lads spotted something in the water and he thought it might be a turtle or something at first,” the company’s founder Chris Oaks told the Manchester Evening News. But when we got a bit closer we realized it was a little hedgehog. It was really small so cant have been very old.”
Oaks said that the hedgehog was visibly struggling and would have drowned without intervention. Without hesitation, the guys hatched a rescue plan using the extendable poles of their window washing equipment. They had no trouble gaining the cooperation of the hedgehog who readily accepted help.
The hedgehog was taken to a local veterinary clinic and the window washers were able to return the healthy animal to his home a few days later.
