My name is Kenia. I am a one year old girl and have been in severe pain for most of that year. Being born on the streets of Phuket, Thailand meant I have never had a home of my own or a human who loved me. Whether I lived or died was up to me and every day was a battle to survive. I don’t know what I did wrong, but one day somebody put a rubber band around my neck.

I was a lot smaller when this happened but as the months went by and I grew bigger, that rubber band got tighter and tighter. It began to cut into my neck, digging deep into my flesh. I was left with a large and painful wound that got worse with each passing day. I tried desperately to get that rubber band off but I could never manage it. Day after day, I wandered the streets in pain.

When Soi Dog found me, they raced to get that rubber band off me. Within seconds, I felt relief but the pain from my wound was still immense. I was taken to the shelter for treatment and now that my wound is being cleaned and looked after every day, I am doing so much better. I am a super friendly dog and I love to get cuddles from the humans looking after me.

I am here because of the Emergency Response Team. Without supporters like them, Soi Dog would have been unable to take me in and I would still be wandering the streets in pain. I am not the only dog to suffer on the streets; there are many more. Please join the Emergency Response Team today so they can be helped. No amount is too small and it could be your donation that saves the next dog from a lifetime of pain.
