This morning, I gave a talk at Lumbini Garden in Puchong. This was my first time being invited to this centre and I must say, it is a beautiful place with very warm and friendly people.
I shared with the audience what our One-Street CNRM is all about, especially when we now have two panel vets in Puchong. One of the vets in a certain clinic in Puchong had heard about our work and she offered their clinic to be on our panel. I am now in the process of getting a representative in Puchong so that I do not have to run up to Puchong every now and then to attend to our cases. Pravinn, our Puchong rep, is still in college, so I wouldn't want to tax on him so much.
It was most heartening at the end of the talk when children came up to talk with me. Their parents said their children had read my animal books and had specially come to see me. That was so sweet. I had taken photos with them, but this ignoramus made a computer glitch just now and the photos got erased from my phone. But I'm trying to get the photos now, from their phones.
Here's one:
This is the little girl who had come all the way to listen to my talk. Her mum says she has read See you at Rainbow Bridge multiple times!
Even the resident Venerable (a Sri Lankan monk) said he had read my first book, Pawprints. At the end of the talk, the Venerable dedicated merits to all animals. That was so heartening.
I see our future in our young. When we are gone, they are the ones who will take over from were we've left off. We need to pass on this message to them and we need to do this when they are still young.
Today has been a wonderful day, and I rejoice in the opportunity of being able to share what we do with our friends at Lumbini Garden.
