Urgent: Your Prayers, Please, For Batgirl (Wong Yoke Mei�s)

Yoke Mei just texted to say she is rushing Batgirl, one of her TNRM cats to the 24-hour veterinary clinic on an emergency. Batgirl, like a few of her other TNRM cats, has been poisoned.

We ask for your prayers for Batgirl.

It is sad that despite numerous appeals by Yoke Mei to her neighbour(s), they still put out rat poison in the neighbourhood.

Cats are the rat’s natural enemy and their mere presence would deter rats from coming into the territory. Yoke Mei’s TNRM cats are neutered, the breeding is controlled. Their presence in the colony would act as a biological deterrent to rats. Yet, the neighbours still put out rat poison and a few of Yoke Mei’s cats have been poisoned.

As a result of this, Yoke Mei had to keep another younger neutered male cat, Didi, in a cage, for his own safety. Our friend agreed to adopt Didi and Didi has a safe home now.

But the rest of Yoke Mei’s community cats are at the risk of being poisoned.

Now, Batgirl is fighting for her life at the clinic. She is throwing a seizure. The vets are trying to save her life.

Please pray for Batgirl.

The things that humans do which endanger smaller, helpless animals, are sometimes done out of ignorance or at other times, out of revenge and hatred. Petty quarrels between humans can result in our defenseless animals becoming the victims.�To protect our animals, sometimes we have no choice but to eat humble pie and do whatever it takes to safeguard our helpless and defenseless ones.

In Yoke Mei’s case, she has already pleaded with her neighbours to not put out the poison, but her pleas have fallen on deaf ears. We will endeavour to help Yoke Mei rehome all her TNRM cats. We hope you will help too.

Return-to-colony is only recommended in SAFE colonies. When it is unsafe, rehoming is the wiser choice. But rehoming is not easy…unless we all help.

I totally empathise with poisoning cases because I remember how Bosco died of poisoning. He suffered for four days. He fought for his life, I camped at the vet’s and the vets did everything possible to save him, but Bosco succumbed at the end and it was very heart-breaking. Four days. The worst four days of my life. We will help Yoke Mei’s other TNRM cats find homes.

Poisons should be banned. It is an evil invention.
