I WAS STOLEN FROM THE STREETS OF NORTHERN THAILAND DUE TO THE ILLEGAL DOG MEAT TRADE

I have never known such fear – I was snatched off the streets and squashed into a small metal cage with many other dogs, then taken away on a truck to cross the border. I am bigger than a normal sized dog and it hurt being in the metal cage with other dogs. Where were these people taking me? Why were there so many of us? I could hear the younger dogs crying with fear as we travelled through the night, the older dogs unable to cope with the stress and heat during the day. Many died as we drove towards the border – I will never forget how bad I felt as I could not do anything for them.

I don’t know how long we were on this truck of hell but finally we stopped for what felt like a longer time than normal. I heard lots of shouting and felt cages moving underneath me. Why were we being taken off the truck? These people seemed different – they were looking at us like they cared, and they were checking if we were OK. We were taken to a big shelter built especially for dogs like us that were rescued from the dog meat trade. I have never seen so many dogs…

My name is Monty and I now know I am one of the lucky ones. If Soi Dog hadn’t saved us all we would be dead. Skinned alive and boiled for our meat.

I am now living at a rescue shelter with thousands of other dogs. While I am thankful to be here, I would dearly like to find a forever home with a comfortable bed, nice food, and a family to love me.

Soi Dog want to help me find a forever home so if you have a place in your heart to adopt me PLEASE EMAIL cristy@soidog.org

I have heard great things about the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe and I am not fussy – I would like to live in any one of those places and Soi Dog will organise everything to get me there. My only request is that it is with a family who loves me. Is that you?

PLEASE EMAIL cristy@soidog.org if you can help.

Soi Dog has had many dogs successfully adopted to the USA, Canada, the UK and other European countries. We organise everything for you and charge no adoption fee; we simply seek to have the transportation costs covered.
