When you are born a Thai street dog, you know of no other way of life. You grow up on the streets, without a home and without anyone to love you. You roam the streets looking for food and shelter. You dice with death, racing in and out of speeding traffic. You think your life couldn’t get much worse, until one day, a human picks up a knife and stabs you through the chest.
My name is Rosa and this is my story.
I was picked up by Soi Dog’s Animal Rescue Officer, Khun Jaroon. I was found at the southern end of the island with a deep puncture wound on my chest. On examining me, the vets at the shelter could tell that somebody had stabbed me with a knife. The pain was agony and I was so scared; I had simply been running around as usual, desperately trying to find some food. I don’t understand what I did wrong.
I am in a good place now, and getting the treatment and medication I need, but Soi Dog cannot continue to treat animals like me without YOUR help. You can sign up to save dogs like me by donating as part of the Emergency Response Team. I was lucky to be rescued; please make sure the next animal in distress can be rescued too.
