I am Pek and I was once the saddest little boy. I have no home and I have no owner. For most of my short life, I have been suffering. A bacterial infection gave me a build-up of fluid in my tummy and meant that I hurt every day. I was crying with the pain but I had nobody who cared. I was just 9 weeks old.

Everything changed the day a vet spotted me at a Soi Dog mobile clinic. She picked me up and looked at my tummy. She told me she would take me back to the shelter and that she would make the pain go away. No human has ever been nice to be before, and I tried really hard not to be frightened. Suddenly, somebody cared.

The vet drained all that fluid from my belly and gave me medication for the infection. I am getting better every day and I am starting to understand that some humans just want to help me. Today, I found out that I will stay at the shelter until I am ready for adoption. Today, I am the happiest little boy.
