The Neglected German Shepherd Whose Nightmare Is Over: Meet Dewar

Meet Dewar, six years of age and battling so many problems. We believe Dewar to be a pure bred German Shepherd. She is a street dog that was brought to Soi Dog suffering with a horrendous skin condition. She was also extremely skinny and had a bad eye discharge.

On further examination, the vets saw that she was suffering from mange and had lost a lot of her fur. They have also detected some possible fractures, probably from a road traffic accident some time in her past. Her muscular system has been weakened but she is still able to walk, although her paws are inflamed and obviously causing her pain. Dewar is starting to eat a little bit but her appetite will need to be built up before her strength fully returns.

Dewar is now getting the treatment she has been in need of for a long time, and her progress will be carefully monitored. Despite all her suffering, she is an incredibly kind and affectionate dog, that appears to recognise that she is finally being helped.

We were only able to help Dewar thanks to the Emergency Response Team and today, this team needs YOUR help. No matter where you are in the world, you can join the team and make a difference to the street dogs and cats of Thailand. Please visit http://bit.ly/1jZZEnI to get started.
