I Am Smiley, Saved From The Dog Meat Trade. PLEASE ADOPT ME.

I was snatched one night, off the streets of northern Thailand and thrown into a truck carrying hundreds of other dogs. We lay crammed on top of one another in tiny cages, travelling across the border and into the hands of barbaric dog butchers in neighbouring countries. Once there, we were destined to be skinned and boiled alive, in the mistaken belief that it would enhance the flavour of our meat.
And yet, it was not to be that night. Not for me, and not for the other dogs crammed in those cages with me. The truck we were in was stopped during an undercover raid financed by Soi Dog and we were all rescued. We were taken to the shelter at Buriram, where I still live. My life was saved, along with the lives of all the other terrified dogs that lay on top of, under me, and beside me that night.
I was very weak and sick after my rescue and was sent to stay at a vet clinic for some time. I am feeling so much better now. I am approximately a year or two old, so although my life has been a short one to date, I’ve already experienced more suffering and fear than any dog should ever have to go through. Despite this though, I am incredibly friendly and playful with humans. I just can’t help loving them. I wish I had one of my own.
The people who rescued me told me that it is very easy for me to be adopted to the US, Canada, the UK or other European destinations. Can you give me the forever home I deserve? I have known nothing but misery and terror in my short life to date; can you be the person who changes that? Please see http://www.soidog.org/en/adoptions/adoption-costs/ for more information and email deb@soidog.org if you can help.
Please show me that the world can be a good place. Please adopt me.
