Billboards against the illegal dog meat trade
Thanks to the vital donations of Soi Dog supporters, Watchdog Thailand, in co-operation with the Royal Thai police force, have been able to erect a large number of billboards targeting dog trafficking and raising public awareness of the illegal dog meat trade. Since our first update announcing the erection of these billboards, additional ones have been placed at many police stations, along major roads and at many private businesses and schools.
These billboards have been placed in the areas where the trade is taking place – the parts of Thailand close to the borders of the countries these dogs are smuggled into. Each year, tens of thousands of dogs are smuggled across the border, where they are sold to cruel and barbaric butchers. Many are pets that have been stolen from their owners.
Thanks to your ongoing support, we are able to fight this illegal trade and these billboards are just one step in a multi-pronged approach. Please share this post and visit https://endthedogmeattrade.soidog.org/etdmt/ to help us continue the fight.
