NARROW LEDGE SAVES LABRADOR FROM MASSIVE FREEFALL!
Firemen rescued a chocolate lab named Ike on Monday afternoon after the dog slid down a cliff in Mukilteo, Washington.
Ike’s family had been frantically looking for him since he disappeared on Sunday, but it wasn’t until the next day that a neighbor heard a whimpering and followed the sound. The neighbor was startled to find Ike standing on a narrow shelf about 20 feet down (6 meters) a cliff.
Astonishingly, a small stretch of dirt and rock — no wider than a kitchen table — stopped Ike’s fall. Without it, Ike who would have plunged the full length of the cliff some 200 feet down (960 meters)!
What a reminder to us all to be grateful for ‘the little things’.
