We would like to share a touching story from The Dodo online:-

In Japan, a cat that went missing, in the 2011 Japan tsunami, reunites with its owner 3 years later….

When the 12-year-old cat, Suika, was nowhere to be seen, in the aftermath of the 2011 tsunami, it was presumed to be lost forever.

Lo and behold, just last month, the Yamagishi family finally got news they never thought they’d hear – that the cat is actually still well, and was taken to an animal shelter in their neighbouring village.

It certainly also helped that there was a faded word, “Yamagishi”, and a telephone number inscribed on its collar!

So, pet owners, having a collar with identification certainly does help too, as seen here! At the very least, do remember to have your beloved animal buddy microchipped and registered, to permanently identify it! After all, registered microchips give lost pets the best chance of returning home!
