Rescued From Starvation And Abandonment: This Is Red Rum & Sherga

We are Red Rum and Shergar and we once didnt eat for a week. We are two girls of just 4 months old and we were abandoned. Our owner left us and flew back to his home country, leaving us in the care of his wife. His wife was very sick and soon after that, she had to go to a hospital where she died.

After that, we were alone. Nobody was there to take care of us and make sure we had food and water. There were no humans to cuddle us and tell us we would be looked after. We tried to take care of each other but we were frightened. We were two young girls, all alone in the world.

One day, a man picked us up and took us to Soi Dog. We didnt know what this place was and we wondered if we were in danger. There were some vets there who examined us and told us that we were quite healthy, even though we had not had food for a long time. Then we were taken to the area of the shelter that would be our new home for now.

We have been through a lot in our four months of life. We have already felt abandonment, loneliness, hunger, sadness and fear. Here at Soi Dog, the humans are making sure we start to feel something else. They give us food and water so we feel happy. They cuddle us so we feel loved. They hold us so we no longer feel frightened. We were two young girls, all alone in the world: now we are safe.

We try to show the humans here just how grateful we are, but we cannot give them the thing they need the most help. For that, we need you. We are only here because of the Emergency Response Team, a group of animal lovers just like you. Their support means Soi Dog can continue to rescue animals like us. Please help us thank them by visiting http://bit.ly/1osyxC8 and joining today.
