A Little Survivor Finds Happiness: The Story Of Goose

My name is Goose. I think you might remember me but if not, you will find my original story here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.682567888451616.1073742757.108625789179165&type=3

I arrived at the shelter having been picked up in the middle of the road after being hit by a car. I had a very swollen belly and a badly injured back leg. I was in a lot of pain and very scared – I am only a little boy of about four months old.

The vets at Soi Dog took a look at me and saw that I had a nasty fracture to my hip, there was pain in my back legs and my swollen belly was being caused by a rupture in my bladder. They fixed my bladder with an operation and gave me antibiotics to help me heal without infection and painkillers so I wasn’t hurting anymore.

The vets were still worried about my back leg. I could stand on it a little bit, but every time I tried to walk on it, it would just drag behind me. The vets made me rest a lot, in the hope that my leg would get better, but in the end, it was making me very unhappy. I couldn’t move around like other dogs and the vets realised my leg was so badly damaged that it was never going to work again.

When Dr Eed told me they would have to remove my leg, I didn’t mind. I have seen other three-legged puppies and dogs running around like normal and having so much fun. I just wanted to be like that again. Since my leg has been removed, my life has changed for the better. When the Soi Dog people enter the clinic, I greet them by standing up and walking towards them. I want to be first in line for cuddles and my funny standing up ear makes everyone smile.

Now that I am able to move around again, the vets have reminded me to thank the Emergency Response Team. They tell me I would not be here, getting all this care, without the support of these people. No matter where you are in the world, you can join this team and help other animals who are waiting to be rescued. Please visit http://bit.ly/Rj9c2n and sign up to help them today.
