My Name Is Rogers - PLEASE ADOPT ME

I am an older lady, just over 9 years of age, and for a large portion of those years I have known nothing but suffering and neglect. Many years ago, I had a family of my own. I loved them very much and did everything to make them love me back. Believe me, I really tried, but showing them how much I loved them, and that I would do anything for them, just didn’t work. One day, they drove me to a beach, kicked me out of the car, and drove away without me. I was terrified. Would my family come back? Who would take care of me if they didn’t?

My family never came back. I tried to be grown up and look after myself but finding food was difficult. Before long, I became very skinny. I was slowly starving to death. Somebody must have got sick of seeing me running around the beach because they tied me to a tree and left me there. Today, you can see the scars on my head and neck from where I struggled to free myself from the rope that bound me to the tree.

I have been at Soi Dog for three years now, after a nice tourist found me and called the shelter. I am no longer starved and tied up. Life is good here but it’s not my dream. I love the people at Soi Dog but I don’t want to live out my last years in a shelter. My dream is to one day soon, find a forever home, as I have seen so many other doggie friends do. A loving home is something I have never known – please tell me it is not too late for me. I promise to show you nothing but love and never let you down.

Please help me. Please adopt me. Email deb@soidog.org
