Wounded Wandor Saved By The Kindness Of Locals

Wounded Wandor saved by the kindness of locals

Wandor is a young boy of about four years of age. He came to the shelter from a nearby area called Nai Yang. He had been hanging around a beach resort there and the staff there were very concerned about his condition.

Wandor had a swollen belly and was covered in wounds on his tail, legs and paws. He was undoubtedly suffering greatly. The resort staff called Soi Dog and Animal Rescue Officer Khun Jaroon raced to collect Wandor and get him to the shelter.

The vets examined Wandor and suspected that he had been the victim of a road traffic accident – sadly very common here. One possibility was that Wandor had been dragged along the road, which would have caused his horrific injuries. One of the toes on his back paw was fractured and he had ulcers on his legs and a bruised scrotum. He was also diagnosed with mild anaemia.

The vets cleaned and dressed Wandor’s wounds and began him on a course of treatment to relieve his pain and help him heal. Wandor has a good appetite and is getting stronger every day. We hope he will make a full recovery.

Were it not for the members of the Emergency Response Team, Wandor would still be suffering excruciating pain today. This team is composed of vital supporters like you, based all over the world. Without them, we cannot continue our life saving work for dogs like Wandor.
