Updates On Mary, Spayed Cat (Lee Chin Siangs)

It’s not often that we get updates from those who have claimed a neutering subsidy from us, so it’s really nice to receive this update today, from Mr Lee, regarding Mary, his (now) spayed community cat, subsidised by us recently.

Dear Dr,

I’m feeding Mary twice a day now, she hangs around at my place very often.
My children like her very much.

Thank you for the subsidy. I have bought more food for her now.

Sincerely,
Lee Chin Siang

It is always a pleasure to help responsible rescuers and caregivers who will continue to take good care of their community animals. We totally empathise that rehoming isn’t always possible. So the next best option is to care for them in the community.

If we just pause for a moment and think of the multitudes of street animals born without having a caregiver, dying on the streets, or worse, captured and euthanised, then we will realise how important neutering is. It addresses the root of the stray population problem in the most compassionate way.

So, this “we cannot interfere with Nature” reason is hard to swallow when people are against neutering. Look at all the suffering that can be prevented by just getting our street animals neutered.

We have already interfered with Nature in so many ways. This “interference” is done out of compassion, so that validates it, doesn’t it?

Have a happy life, Mary! And thank you, Mr Lee.

We are now channeling all our funds into providing neutering and first two vaccinations subsidies. If you need the assistance, please do apply: www.myanimalcare.org/subsidy/.
