Poor Melody Saved From Continuous Pain

Hello Facebook friends, Im Melody. You might remember me but if not, you can read my original story here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.693436730698065.1073742820.108625789179165&type=1

My owners brought me to Soi Dog because they were concerned about my right eye, which looked very painful. They had tried taking me to a local vet clinic but the vet there wanted to charge them 21,000 Thai baht to treat me. That is more than my owners monthly income and so they came to Soi Dog asking for help. I am so glad they did that because my eye was hurting a lot.

The vets at Soi Dog examined me and said there was something called an ulcer in my eye and that I had an old fracture in my left hip. I am 10 years old so the fracture could have been from a long time ago, maybe before my owners even had me, so they have no way of knowing what caused it. The vets treated me for ticks and fleas, which are very common in tropical countries like Thailand, and they gave me a little haircut too!

After that, they started me on some medicine for my eye they are giving me eye drops and antibiotics every day. My eye is starting to get much better but the vets have noticed that I have some problems trying to use my back legs. Dr Eugene takes me outside and tries to get me to walk a little bit but he says it might take some time before I get my strength back. I am happy with all the attention from the staff and vets; I love getting cuddles every day!

I am here getting the care I need because of the Emergency Response Team but there are so many other dogs and cats out there who are not. You can help them today by visiting https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html/?source=melody-2-FBO and joining the team.
