Rescued Rinko Finds His Feet

Hi there, Im Rinko. If you havent yet met me, you can read my original story here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.692448367463568.1073742814.108625789179165&type=1

I came to Soi Dog after a staff members friend spotted me at Layan Beach in Phuket. She noticed that I was having real problems standing or walking on my back legs. It was very painful for me and Im so glad somebody noticed because pretty quickly after that, I was picked up by Animal Rescue Officer Khun Jaroon.

The vets examined me and found some painful wounds on my back paws. They cleaned the wounds very well and then they put me on antibiotics so I wouldnt get any infection. They took an x-ray and saw that I had some old fractures. The vets said this was probably the cause of the pain in my back legs.

They told me that there was a problem with the nerves in my paws and that it meant I would never be able to walk or stand like a normal dog. This made me a bit sad until they said they were going to make me some cast shoes that would help me walk without pain. Here I am, having these special cast shoes fitted and being very co-operative for the nice vets Dr Vlad and Dr Sai!

It will take me some time to get used to these new shoes but they are going to change my life. It all started with the Emergency Response Team without them, Id still be on that beach suffering excruciating pain for the rest of my life. I am now one of the lucky ones but there are so many others who are counting on you to help them by joining the team. Please visit https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html and do so today.
