Baby Bellay Recovering From Pain

My name is Bellay and I am a young, one year old girl. You might remember me but if not, you can read the beginning of my story here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.689080187800386.1073742795.108625789179165&type=3

I came to the shelter when Animal Rescue Officer Khun Jaroon found me. I was lying beside a hotel in the Karon beach area of Phuket with a very nasty wound on my leg. Khun Jaroon was very worried about me and rushed me straight to Soi Dog.

When I got here, the vets took a close look at my leg. They told Khun Jaroon it was lucky he found me when he did as the wound had not yet had time to get infected. They put me on antibiotics straight away to make sure no infection would come and also started treatment for my anaemia.

I have to have my leg bandaged all the time but the vets clean my wound and change the bandage every day. They tell me the wound is getting better all the time but I know it will take some time before I am completely better. I like being here so I am always very friendly to the people taking care of me.

The vets told me that it is only because of the Emergency Response Team that I am here. They are a lovely group of people, all over the world, who save the lives of dogs and cats here in Phuket. I don’t like to think what would have happened to my leg if it weren’t for them. You can help so many other animals like me by visiting https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html and joining today.
