Tons Story: One Dogs Journey From Horror To Joy

Hi there, Im Ton, a mountain of love and happiness. I wasnt always in such high spirits though if you dont know my original story, you can read it here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.607566012618471.1073742317.108625789179165&type=3

I came to the shelter after I was found abandoned and alone, my tail having been hacked off. I dont know why the humans did this to me but as I couldnt look after myself, the wound from the cut became very badly infected it was filled with maggots and bits of my bone could be seen.

I was rushed to Soi Dog and straight into the care of the lovely vets there. They cleaned out my horrible wound, got rid of all the maggots and gave me the medicine I needed to get better. At the same time, they found out I had something called heartworm and they had to send me away for a while for this to be treated.

It took me a little while to get better but once I did I was in for a treat – while back with the nice people at Soi Dog, I got the most amazing news. A lovely couple who had been spending time with me told me they wanted to adopt me and give me a new life at their home in Finland.

Here are some pictures of me saying goodbye to the staff who cared for me at Soi Dog and settling in for the long journey ahead. Ill have you know I jumped up into that truck myself I just couldnt wait to get to my new home!

I am one lucky boy but I do get sad when I wonder if the animal friends Ive left behind will also find their forever home. When youve finished reading my story, think about what you could offer a dog (or cat) from Soi Dog Ive heard its pretty easy to adopt. As I say goodbye, I would ask you to please look at http://www.soidog.org/en/adoptions/ and get in touch if you can help.
