I’M NOT THE EASTER BUNNY

I may not be a legendary bunny, but I do know what it is to be treated like royalty. Though I can’t deliver chocolates or colored eggs, I was welcomed into a home. Every morning, I enjoy a huge salad and throughout the day I hop about and get lots of attention from my family. My cat and dog friends let me sleep beside them in their beds. And my ‘mom’ lets me taste the pumpkin pie filling!

This is my fenced, outdoor play area where I enjoy supervised time each day, and oh boy, I love to get a running start and click my heals together. I once was a hutch bunny, living in a tiny wooden box at the far end of a backyard. No, I didn’t feel very good in there. It was lonely and I couldn’t move about or find comfort when I was afraid at night. I don’t know why the custom of leaving bunnies in hutches still goes on. It is a throw-back to a time when rabbits were commonly raised for ‘meat’. I’m so glad those days are over for me and I wish every bunny could be as blessed as I am. What a life I lead now!

Animal Rescue Chase

The Great Animal Rescue Chase celebrates the art of animal rescue with a worldwide race to rescue one million. It’s a free event, open to all, and is perhaps the only global animal rescue event aimed at helping any animal in distress, anywhere in the world. Our ambition is to create a culture of enthusiasm and pride in animal activism. We believe in teaching, by example, that there is a hero in each of us just waiting to be unleashed. Empowered animal lovers can not only save lives, but build the momentum for powerful animal welfare reform.
