Beautiful Bellay Begins The Long Road To Recovery

Hi, I am Bellay. If you havent yet met me, or you missed my original story, you can read it here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.689080187800386.1073742795.108625789179165&type=3

Even though I am only a young lady of just over a year old, Ive already had a tough start in life. I came to Soi Dog when animal rescue officer Khun Jaroon found me with a very bad leg wound beside a hotel here in Phuket. I was very lucky he found me because the vets said I made it to them before the wound had time to become infected. They were able to give me antibiotics to make sure any infection would stay away and they cleaned my wound every day for me. They are giving me medicine for the pain too so I am quite comfortable.

It is going to take me some time to heal because of how bad my injury was. I have to wear a bandage all the time so that it stays protected, but the vets change this every day when they clean the wound. They hope that in time I will have healed enough to no longer need it but it will be a while before that happens. Im so happy to be here at Soi Dog – if Id been left by that hotel my wound would have ended up severely infected and I might have lost my leg.

It is only thanks to the members of the Emergency Response Team that I ended up here, getting the treatment I need. You can help others like me by becoming a member today. Please visit https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html to find out how.
