Mdm. Tan is one strong lady that truly inspires me. Her compassion towards animals is no denial. She devoted most of her life into helping and rescuing animals, not caring what others thought of her.

She built a non-kill shelter but ended up people around criticizing her for animal abused, just because she refused to put sick animals down in hope that they can be saved, given another chance.

Mdm. Tan started helping dogs caught by MPSP ever since she saw how poor the condition at the confinement place was. Dogs caging at cages too small for them, even to the extend that some has no place to sit, what more lie down for a rest. No food was provided to them and even if there was, the food are most of the time smeared with dog poops, since no one bother to wash the bowls. Drinking water was either dirty or empty. Things got better since Mdm. Tan took over the job of feeding them with food she cook and brought from her shelter. She cleans the place and feed the dogs daily, making it her routine tasks. For an old lady, this additional task on top of her hectic work at shelter is really too much for her.

Many times, Mdm. Tan has no time for her meals and only managed to get a quick bite in the late afternoon after she has completed most of her tasks. Her health is truly our concerned. No matter how we advised her to take good care of herself, the very moment she know of any animals in trouble within her vicinity, she will drop everything she is doing and rush to the scene.

Yet, after all she has done, there are still hypocrites around who are spreading rumors that she is selling dogs caught by MPSP, especially those pedigrees. For dogs caught with license or pedigrees of any type, we will give priority in locating their owners as we know well these dogs belong to someone. If we failed to locate the owners, then we will put them up for adoption BUT, SPCA Seberang Perai or Mdm. Tan DO NOT SELL these dogs. THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE! We warned these hypocrites to be responsible of their words.

And it is also best that we clarify here that there are procedures to be followed when adopting or claiming out dogs from the pound. Please adhere to the rules to avoid any misunderstanding. DO NOT pose as �owner� of the dog for convenience sake, just so you can claim out the �pedigrees� without raising any suspicions.

We are really thankful for all help rendered to make the dogs caught to MPSP Pound more comfortable and bearable but do it out from your heart to help the animals, and not for whatsoever reasons behind, especially when it involves defaming others� reputations.

Last but not least, we would also like to send out our deepest gratitude to all who truly support SPCA Seberang Perai and genuinely helping Mdm. Tan from the bottom of their hearts. We THANK YOU!

SPCA Seberang Perai

The SPCA Seberang Perai is a society registered in September 2005. Our primary aim is to reduce the population of stray animals or possibly a zero stray population in a humane manner. With lesser strays or no strays at all, the loving value of animals will be greatly increased and you can be sure that humans will shower more love for their pets and be responsible pet owners. The problem should not only be shouldered by our Society as the public must also understand the urgent need to control the pet population and give their whole-hearted support to all our projects for the undertaking to be successful. Then we will achieve a clean and hygienic environment for the community. As a no killing organization, we are embarking on a two-prong approach towards the problem i.e public education and sterilization of the stray animals.
