ACRES is a pioneering Singapore-based charity and Institution of Public Character, founded by Singaporeans in 2001 with the aim of promoting animal welfare. ACRES is seeking to hire (Full-time positions only): - 1 Education Officer.
- 1 Campaigns Officer.
- 2 Wildlife Rescue Officers.
The Education Officer will deliver our various humane educational programmes to audiences of all ages and empower people with the knowledge to make a difference for animals. The Campaigns Officer will develop and manage our various animal protection campaigns, including regional Zoo Animal Welfare campaigns and our undercover investigations. The Wildlife Rescue Officers will carry out wildlife rescues and provide optimal care to animals at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre. Working location: Based at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre, 91 Jalan Lekar. (Nearest MRT station is Choa Chu Kang). Working hours: Five days a week, including weekends. 9am to 5pm on weekdays, variable hours on weekends. Full job descriptions are attached below. Education Officer Responsibilities - Delivering educational programmes to audiences of all ages. This includes talks and hands-on activities.
- Overseeing and executing ACRES educational roadshows. Manning the ACRES roadshows at schools and public venues, speaking to the public on a wide range of animal welfare issues.
- Arranging educational outreach programmes and roadshows and liaising with schools, community groups etc.
- Preparing educational materials.
- Maintaining an on-site Education Centre and Outdoor Conservation Classroom at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC).
- Giving educational tours to visitors at the AWRC.
- Training volunteers to assist with educational programmes and liaising with volunteers.
- Assisting with the development of new educational outreach materials.
- Maintaining an education outreach database.
Requirements - Class 3 driving license.
- Confident public speaker. Able to communicate well with audiences of all ages, including preschoolers.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to commit full- time for a minimum of two years, preferably longer.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel).
- Previous experience in the field of education and knowledge of animal protection issues is an advantage.
- Website management skills are an advantage.
- Design skills (e.g. designing layout for new educational materials) are an advantage.

Campaigns Officer Responsibilities - Managing existing ACRES campaigns and developing future campaigns, on a range of animal protection issues, initially focusing on regional zoo animal welfare campaigns.
- Arranging and attending meetings with key stakeholders for various campaigns.
- Developing effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Developing and implementing effective communication strategies.
- Engaging and supporting campaign partners to communicate campaign messages.
- Ensuring various components of campaigns are completed on time.
- Liaising with other organisations on joint campaigns.
Requirements - Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel 2007).
- Good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Able to commit full- time for a minimum of two years.
- Previous experience in the field of animal protection and knowledge of animal protection issues, in particular zoo animal welfare issues, is an advantage.
- Bilingual in English and Malay.

Wildlife Rescue Officer The Wildlife Rescue Officer will be trained in animal care, animal handling and husbandry upon appointment and he/she will work under the direct supervision of the Director of the AWRC. Responsibilities - Rescuing injured or displaced native wild animals and animals from the illegal wildlife trade.
- Manning the 24-hour Wildlife Rescue Hotline.
- Maintaining records of all rescue operations.
- Liaising with relevant authorities for release operations.
- Maintaining all rescue equipment and vehicle.
- Assisting with animal care and maintenance of the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC).
Requirements - Class 3 driving license.
- Candidates must be willing to work 5 ½ days a week (including weekends, public holidays and overnight duties).
- Willingness to work flexible hours will be an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to commit full- time for a minimum of two years, preferably longer.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
