Mass Vaccinations Underway For Dogs Rescued From Dog Meat Trade
Tweet |
Soi Dog Foundation has recently begun the purchase of vaccines to give to the dogs rescued from the dog meat trade. These vaccines will protect them against horrific diseases such as parvovirus, distemper and rabies. At the Buriram shelter in Thailand’s north, more than 2000 dogs rescued from the dog meat trade are under the supervision of the Department of Livestock and Development. Soi Dog Foundation is committed to funding the food and vet care of these rescued dogs, along with facility constructions.
So far, 500 doses of these vaccines have been delivered to the Buriram shelter, but many more doses are needed. While it costs around 3 USD to vaccinate each dog, with over 2000 dogs, the expense adds up, especially in addition to food and veterinary costs. You can help with vaccinating these dogs against life threatening diseases by donating to the Magic 1000 Club today. Donations to the Magic 1000 Club also used to help feed these rescued dogs and to provide veterinary care. You can donate today by visiting http://www.soidog.org/en/magic-1000/
