HEROES CARRY CAMERAS

There are raindrops on the roof and thunder in the air, as a timid little dog casts down his stare.

But the swivel of a lens and a tickle on the chin, can find this dear a home again.

Can’t count on my fingers or on the stars hung high, how many were adopted and won’t have to die.

So keep bringing in your cameras and your hopeful hearts, you’re giving these shelter pets heavenly new starts.

In the photo above, you see Prissy who was ADOPTED out of the South Chicago Humane Society thanks to photographer Joe (his Flickr page here http://www.flickr.com/photos/friendlyjoe/)

Please SHARE this post and help send out a huge wave of gratitude to all the volunteer photographers who help animals find their way out of the shelters and into their happily-ever-after homes.

Animal Rescue Chase

The Great Animal Rescue Chase celebrates the art of animal rescue with a worldwide race to rescue one million. It’s a free event, open to all, and is perhaps the only global animal rescue event aimed at helping any animal in distress, anywhere in the world. Our ambition is to create a culture of enthusiasm and pride in animal activism. We believe in teaching, by example, that there is a hero in each of us just waiting to be unleashed. Empowered animal lovers can not only save lives, but build the momentum for powerful animal welfare reform.
