Philemon Recovers From Leg Amputation

Hi, my name is Philemon. If you did not catch my original story you can read it at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.673316812710057.1073742693.108625789179165&type=3
I was found at a local market with an injured front leg. I was hit by a car a while ago and was struggling to get around and I could not use my leg at all. All the muscles in my shoulder had wasted and the nails on my foot had become really overgrown. I was not even able to feel my leg any more.
Because I had lost use and feeling in my leg, the vets at Soi Dog thought it was best for my overall wellbeing to perform an amputation. I have to say I agreed with their decision as it really was hard work trying to get around with a useless leg. I was a bit sick when I first came to the clinic so the vets first had to give me some medicine for a few days before I was well enough to have surgery.
I have now had my operation and I must say it wasn’t bad like I expected it would be. I was asleep the whole time and when I woke up, my bad leg was gone. The vets are keeping a close eye on the wound from where my leg was removed to make sure it doesn’t become infected, but I can definitely say I really am feeling pretty good.
I do think the vets are a bit sneaky though. When I woke up from having my leg removed I noticed they had done something called a sterilisation, which means they took some of my manhood away. I am a bit confused as to why they did this, but it doesn’t feel all that different so I am not too worried about it.
I am so grateful that I was able to come to Soi Dog and have my leg dealt with. The vets say it is all because of wonderful people who make up the Emergency Response Team. These people are important as their support ensures Soi Dog can treat all the dogs and cats who need urgent help.
