Philemon Comes To The Clinic With Severely Damaged Leg
Tweet |
Philemon was found recently at a local market with a wound on his front left leg and it was also suspected to be broken. It is likely that he has been hit by a car at some stage. The vets have examined him and believe his broken leg may be an old injury due his nails being overgrown on that foot and the wastage of his muscles in his left shoulder.
Upon examination by the Soi Dog vets, Philemon was found to have no feeling in his leg and no hope of recovery, so the only choice will now be to amputate. Due to Philemon coming in with a high temperature and panting, the vets need to get this under control before surgery can be performed. Philemon is currently on pain relief, antibiotics and IV fluids and once his temperature has been lowered the amputation will be performed. We will update you on his progress as soon as we can.
