Peteys Maggot Infested Wound Is Healing Well And She Now Waits F

Hi everyone, my name is Petey and I recently came to the Soi Dog shelter with a maggot infested wound and a tumour amongst other health problems. You can read my original story at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.666714683370270.1073742668.108625789179165&type=3

I was brought to the Soi Dog shelter by a lovely person named Khun Nan, who regularly feeds us dogs who live at the temple in Phang Nga. As well as having a horrible wound and a tumour, I am also suffering from anaemia and I am overweight, although I would prefer to refer to myself as curvaceous.

The vets have been treating my wound and it is starting to feel better. They have removed all the disgusting maggots and I am on medicine to make sure my wound does not get infected. I am supposed to be having surgery to remove the tumour soon, but the vets say I need to get a bit healthier before they can do the surgery. I am a bit sick from the anaemia and they are also treating me for blood parasites. The vets say the surgery is not urgent and it is important that I am healthier before they do this.

It seems that I have a bit of a long road ahead until I am fully well again, but I have confidence that the vets at Soi Dog will make me feel better. They tell me its only with the help of generous supporters that dogs like me can receive the care we need. It is the members of the Emergency Response Team that help dogs like me get the best treatment Soi Dog can provide. If you would like to help dogs like me, please join this team today by visiting https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html
