Old Dog Matina Requires Operation To Alleviate Her Pain

Hi, my name is Matina. If you dont know who I am, you can read my original story at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.664210766953995.1073742652.108625789179165&type=3

I came to the Soi Dog clinic after I was found having seizures near a shopping centre in the south of Phuket. I was so scared when this was happening to me. It felt horrible and I didnt know how to make it stop. Thankfully a nice lady called Khun Ann saw this happening and told Soi Dog and they sent animal rescue officer Khun Nok to come and get me.

Since I have been at the clinic, I have not had any more seizures, which is some ways is a good thing, but it means the vets have not been able to work out why I had seizures in the first place. I am just keeping my paws crossed that I will not have any more seizures again.

When I came to the clinic I was also in a lot of pain from something called arthritis, which was making it difficult to walk. To help with this, the vets decided the best thing for me would be to have an operation. I dont really understand what its all about but something to do with removing the head of my femur. I am still recovering from the operation, but the vets are giving me medicine to help with this. I hope I will be up and walking soon.

I am also getting medicine to help get rid of the parasites that are in my blood. These horrible things have been making me feel really sick, but I am starting to feel a bit better now.

Id really like to thank all the people who are helping me, but would especially like to thank the members of the Emergency Response Team. I hear that without them, Soi Dog would not be able to help the many dogs like me who need urgent treatment. If you are not already a member of this team, but would like to help, you can join today by visiting https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html
