VERY GOOD NEWS!!!

UKRAINE’S ZOO ANIMALS SAFE FOR NOW

Just a quick update for all of you who have been asking about the Kharvic Zoo in Ukraine. Last week it was reported that the animals here had only 3 days of food leftover after the political upheaval put a stop to funding.

The good news is, for now, the animals are safe. There was a huge outpouring of local support with people bringing bags and bags of food including cabbage, bread, carrots, beets, greens and more. The zoo staff were using tractors to haul the food around. According to one news report, the zoo had received so much food from the local community that they could barely manage to shelve and count it. (photo Daily Mail)
