Emergency Responder

A miracle? . No, just two heroines on opposite sides of the world who cared

It was just 3 months ago that a Thai lady found a dog hidden in a pump house in a village close to the Heroines monument. Sirilak Noysap, who feeds local stray dogs had been told of a dog in terrible condition, and set out to find him. He had hidden himself away, probably to die. She gave him water and food and did what she could for his terrible wounds and then called Soi Dog. One of Soi Dogs emergency response officers picked the poor dog up and brought him to the Soi Dog center. The dog we named Hero because he had been picked up so close to the Heroines monument. It was to be an apt name. Skin and bone and covered with knife wounds, his legs and feet swollen with infection and turning septic, his chances of recovery did not look good. One can only imagine the pain and suffering the young dog had endured. But Hero did want to live, he took food and submitted himself without complaint to weeks of daily treatment as if aware the vets were trying to save him. He became a hero in more than just name.

Three months later and Hero is now in a new home in the United States, a changed dog now, An American lady, Sissy Garritt, one of thousands who were touched by his story decided to go one step further and offer the dog a permanent loving home. Hero still has a small skin problem but we are confident that with his new family his transformation both mentally and physically will soon be complete.

As we often say; Saving one dog wont change the world but it will certainly change the world for that one dog.

So to these two heroines and the hundreds of people who through your donations make such miracles happen every day. A huge thank you.
