Story Of A Soi Dog Rescuer

Panchito and Conchita were adopted by Sara and Mike, from Singapore. The dogs were part of a litter of six puppies that Sara found in December, 2011, on Mai Khao Beach, Phuket. At the time, Sara contacted Soi Dog Foundation to sterilize the puppies and return them back to the beach, where there were various food stalls that could feed the dogs.
When Sara returned five months later, she found Conchita living in the parking lot of a hotel, hiding under a motorcycle, starving and scared. Sara and Mike decided to take Conchita home. They returned six months later to look for another dog from the same litter. They found Panchito living in a dank construction site, drinking water the colour of fabric softener.
Reuniting the sibling dogs was so rewarding. As there was so much love between the dogs, Mike and Sara decided to adopt another dog. They returned to Mai Khao Beach and found a third from the same litter, so Negrita (Spanish for “little black one”) just joined the family in Singapore.
Sara says “The love that bonds these sibling pooches is so strong that it has forever transformed our home and our lives. Given the “pack nature” of dogs I would highly encourage people to consider adopting two dogs because everything is exponential: the fun when they play, the love when they cuddle and nap together, and the overall happiness they bring to the home. We couldn’t live without our three furry kids!”
