Hanoi Recovers Well From Leg Amputation

Hi, my name is Hanoi. If you didnt catch my original story you can read it by visiting https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.643614662346939.1073742508.108625789179165&type=1

I am only a young boy, being about 4 months old when I first came to Soi Dog. I was hit by a car and was in a very bad way. I had fractures in my hips and legs and head injuries and was in a lot of pain. Unfortunately the vets realised that I would never be able to use my front left leg, so they made the decision to amputate it. I was so scared. I didnt think I would ever be able to walk again, but Dr Eed assured me that many dogs have to have their legs amputated and they can walk ok. This made me less scared, but I was still a bit nervous.

It has been over a month now since my leg was amputated and I am feeling very positive about life. Unfortunately though, I do have a couple more health problems but the vets say it is easily treated. I have blood parasites and a little bit of mange. I am not going to let that get me down though as I know I have a bright future ahead of me.

I have heard since amputation that it is because of people who are part of the Emergency Response Team that the Soi Dog vets were able to help me. I would like to say a huge thank you to these wonderful people. If you are not a member of this team, but would like to help dogs and cats just like me, please join today at https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html
