Gypso Loses His Tail Due To Serious Infection

Hi, my name is Gypso. I came to the Soi Dog clinic with a wound on my tail and a very high temperature as I had a bacterial infection because of my injuries. You can read my original story at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.661204163921322.1073742632.108625789179165&type=3

When I arrived at the clinic I was feeling very sore and sick. The vets did everything they could to help me, but I just kept getting worse. The wound on my tail was getting worse and that was making me even sicker so the vets were left with no choice by to amputate. Unfortunately, there was not enough healthy skin to close where the tail was taken away, so I am going to require a lot more treatment before I am going to get better. One good thing though is that I no longer have a high temperature, so I feel a little bit better because of that. The vets say I am not out of danger entirely yet, but I know they will do everything they possibly can to make me better. I know this because there are other dogs in the clinic who tell me they came in in worse shape than I did and they are feeling a lot better now.

I would like to say thank you to all the members of the Emergency Response Team. I hear that it is only with their help that dogs like me can receive the urgent care they need. If I hadn’t made it to the clinic when I did, I don’t think I would be alive today.
