ADOPTED DOG SAVES GIRL FROM SUICIDE

A heroic pet dog proved to be a troubled 13-year-old girl’s best friend after helping firemen rescue her during a suicide attempt in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on Saturday.

The yellow-haired dog, Roman, aided rescuers and her mother in pulling its young owner back from the edge of her apartment building in time for firemen to rescue her.

The young girl had reportedly been suffering from depression since her father was sent to jail for stealing. She’d become very lonely as she was not able to see him.

The girl decided to jump off from the third floor of her building, but instantly grabbed on to the ledge of the building’s masonry and was left dangling. That’s when her pet dog pulled her up little by little, dragging her clothes with its mouth.

Authorities said the dog’s heroic deed saved enough time for firemen to come and rescue the girl.

According to the family’s landlord surnamed Tang, Roman was taken in by the girl about six months ago. He also rarely barks and is friendly with strangers.
