Spreading education about animal welfare to the next generation!!
Last week, 27 children from Vientiane Pattana International School’s Grade 3 came for a tour of the ACRES Lao Wildlife Sanctuary. The children, aged 8 and 9 years old, came to have a look around the Sanctuary, learn about animal welfare and to see what we do here.
We had great fun as they saw animals in real life for the first time…try explaining what a binturong is to an 8 year old!!
The highlights of the visit for them were seeing the gibbons swinging and singing on their island, meeting the elephant and watching the otter play.
But it wasn’t only about us giving them information…they had all clubbed together and generously donated a fantastic sum of money to be used on improving the lives of the animals they had just met. THANK YOU Grade 3!!!
As always it gives us such a great sense of hope and inspiration to see such enthusiasm and excitement about animals in the younger generations.
Hopefully we’ll see you here again soon!!!
