Melina Prepares Recovers From Abdominal Surgery

I recently had to have surgery on my stomach as the vets discovered I had a tumour that needed to be removed. They were not sure what was wrong with me at first as my stomach was very swollen and there were maggots inside my wound. Once they cleaned me up and the swelling went down they were able to tell I had a tumour and told me I needed have an operation. I was so scared, but the vets promised me I would be asleep and not feel a thing.

When I woke up from the operation I was pretty sore, but no more sore than beforehand. After a few days rest my stomach has started to feel a bit bitter. The vets say I still need to rest and they are checking my stomach every day to make sure I don�t get an infection and that my healing is going well.

I am so happy I am now on the road to recovery and I am starting to feel more positive about my future. Thank you to everyone who is part of the Emergency Response Team.
