DOG WITH 2 HOURS TO LIVE GETS VALENTINE'S DAY MIRACLE!

This morning began with the usual barrage of 100 or so emails from people all over the world in need of help for animals in crisis. One of those messages came from Harmony Fund supporter Mallory K. who lives in Massachusetts and was asking for help to rescue a small dog about to be euthanized some 2,000 miles away. I looked at the clock and there were just 8 hours until this young, healthy dog would be put to sleep because her family never came to claim her at the pound.
Despite the slim odds, we got to work networking as did hundreds of other wonderful Facebook fans who wanted to believe that today of all days, a miracle was possible.
After a series of false starts, one simple message from a dog lover named Karen D. who wrote, “I am on my way to get her right now from Dallas.” Karen followed through, despite reservations about how the newcomer would get along with her own two dogs. She followed her heart all the way to the town of Arlington and found out that Wiggles, originally listed as being female, was actually a boy. If Karen had taken a day off Facebook today or if her car had broken down along the way, Wiggles would have taken her last breath on that veterinary table today for no greater crime than simply being ‘unwanted’.
Wiggles will always be a miracle dog and all of us who came together to save him today, consider ourselves blessed to have received the very best Valentine we could ever hope for.
